About
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society of St. Rose Parish was formed to help people during times of emergency, sudden crisis, or financial difficulty. A small group of parishioners visit people in temporary need of assistance with food or household bills and expenses, and try to respond to their needs. But our primary role is not to pay the bills, furnish groceries, or clothe someone. Our role is to provide loving and compassionate interest in individuals.

In 2017, we provided over $78,000 in merchandise and financial assistance to our neighbors in need in the Belmar community. We help with shelter, food, medical bills, utilities, transportation and other unique requests for assistance. The Society is funded through community donations and its furniture store, Selective Seconds. Most of the Society’s work is done by volunteers who devote countless hours of assistance.
